Install uv
uv is installed once per computer (not once per project), and then used everywhere. Choose the instructions for your operating system below.
Open PowerShell or Command Prompt and run:
powershell -ExecutionPolicy ByPass -c "irm https://astral.sh/uv/install.ps1 | iex"An alternative, if you have WinGet available, is:
winget install --id=astral-sh.uv -eOpen Terminal and run:
curl -LsSf https://astral.sh/uv/install.sh | shIf you use Homebrew, another option is:
brew install uvOpen a terminal and run:
curl -LsSf https://astral.sh/uv/install.sh | shClose and reopen your terminal if the installer asks you to (this refreshes your shell’s PATH so it can find the new command), then check the install worked:
uv --versionuv 0.9.6
You should see a version number — the exact numbers will differ depending on when you install it, which is fine.
Only run installation commands from sources you trust. The commands above are taken from the official uv installation documentation; prefer fetching them from that page directly if you are ever unsure whether a copy you have seen elsewhere has been altered.
